Objectives of The Workshop:

 

For Malay Dance Instructors & Would-be Instructors:

  • To provide them with the opportunity to enhance their skills and techniques in performing traditional Malay dances

  • To provide them with better understanding and appreciation of traditional Malay dance choreography

  • To enlighten Malay dance instructors and would-be instructors the proper instructing methodology, approach and techniques

For Dancers & Would-be Dancers:

  • To provide the opportunity to understand and appreciate traditional Malay dances

  • To provide the opportunity to acquire the basic skills and techniques in traditional Malay dances

The Instructors & Presenters of the Workshop seek to:

  • To share our dance workshop experiences as artistes and educators

  • To investigate how our skills as educators and performers can be broadened

  • To explore how dance workshop are a marriage of both performance and education
