Gentarasa 2007, a 75-minute theatre extravaganza showcasing 60 local talents employing new creative expressions evolved from traditional art forms will be presented by the People’s Association and its Malay Activity Co-ordinating Council (MESRA) along with Ci Yuan Community Centre Malay Activity Executive Committee (MAEC). Gentarasa 2007 – Titisan Cacamerba (Dynamic Transformation) will be held, in conjunction with the Singapore Arts Festival 2007, for the sixth year running. For the first time, the Malay Activities Executive Committee (MAEC) from Ci Yuan Community Centre will also take the lead in this production.
2 Gentarasa was initiated by Dr Yaacob Ibrahim, Minister for the Environment and Water Resources and Adviser to MESRA in 2002 to foster awareness and appreciation of Malay culture in our multi-racial society. Gentarasa also serves as an important platform for the Malay performing groups active at the Community Centres/Clubs to showcase their talent in Malay performing arts. This year show would be showcases at the heartland and is a start of the heartland Gentarasa, starting with the North West districts and its schools.
3 Showcasing our young local talents in the field of the performing arts to present a poetic musical masterpiece by Mr Amri Amin, Gentarasa 2007, is creatively co-produced by Mr Saiful Amri and Mr Shahril Wahid (winner of Suria’s Anugerah Skrin) with Artistic Director, Mr Mohd Farel Jainal (recipient of Mendaki’s Goh Chok Tong Youth Promise Award) and Director, Mr Muhd Najib Soiman.
4 Gentarasa 2007 – Titisan Cacamerba (Dynamic Transformation) will be held at the Republic Polytechnic on Friday, 22 June 2007 at 8.00 pm and Saturday, 23 June 2007 at 2.30pm (matinee for students) and 8.00pm (evening show for the public).

Gentarasa 2007 will be held in conjunction with the Singapore Arts Festival 2007 at Republic Polytechnic on Friday, 22 June 2007 at 8.00 p.m. and Saturday, 23 June 2007 at 2.30pm (matinee for students) and 8.00pm (evening show for the public). Performing Groups
Malay cultural performing groups from fourteen Community Centres/Clubs (CCs), namely Canberra CC, Marine Parade CC, Nee Soon South CC, Cairnhill CC, Ci Yuan CC, Punggol Park CC, Cheng San CC, Anchorvale CC, Bishan CC, Tampines Central CC, Geylang Serai CC, Sengkang CC, Jurong Green CC and Fengshan CC will be featured.
