Synopsis

(1) The need to learn Grammar formally especially for Malay students who were born and raised with the language and could not differentiate between what’s right and what’s wrong in the language they use. This is unlike non-Malays who learn the language systematically.

(2) The language should be used more often outside the school context.

(3) The need to read more materials in Malay to improve proficiency.

(4) The need to be more sensitive towards the changes in the language itself.

(5) The need to learn the language in depth.
